The Applying Professional Scrum (APS) class is for those who are new to Scrum or who have not received formal training in Scrum. This really is Scrum 101. It's a fun class full of learning, activities and discussion. During the class, students experience Professional Scrum. They experience new, agile ways of working that enable teams to deliver more value, satisfy stakeholders and work better together. Students work together as a team in a series of Sprints to build a product, facing the same problems they face outside of class and learn how to use Scrum to address them. The events, roles, artifacts and principles of Scrum are leveraged during the exercises. By emphasizing the practical application of Scrum, the course also exposes common missteps and misunderstandings allowing students to develop an awareness of the associated symptoms and how to correct them. Students not only learn Scrum; they learn how to use Scrum well. What's Included: - 2 days of instruction - 1 free attempt to earn your PSM I certification - Course Workbook - Access to full slide deck and complementary materials used during the course PSM I Certification: After completing the course, you will receive an exam code from Scrum.org for taking the PSM 1 exam. You will receive the code within 48 hours. Your exam code is valid once. If you take the exam within 14 days after completing the course, and unfortunately do not pass the 85%, Scrum.org will offer you a one-time free resit. Please note that you will not receive this gift if you take a exam 14 days after participation. PMI PDU Credits: Students of Scrum.org courses are able to claim Project Management Institute (PMI) PDU credit: 14 PDUs after attending the APS class. Please note that PMI PDUs are earned for course attendance and not for passing a Scrum.org assessment. Schedule: This class will be fully remote and will be offered in a format of two full-day sessions. The class will be offered on Tuesday and Wednesday, August 8-9, 2023, from 9:00 AM CST - 5:00 PM CST each day. Discussion is welcome throughout the class.
